Vicki McKibbon Named as New Chair of the APTA

Vicki McKibbon, B.Sc., MBA, CA, and the President of the Transportation Division of Armour Transportation Systems of Moncton, NB, is the new chair of the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA).

The Sackville-N.B native has been with Armour for 25 years, joining as a controller after five years with Deloitte Haskins and Sells.

McKibbon officially accepted the appointment from outgoing APTA chair Donnie Fillmore of Atlantic Pacific Transport at last week’s APTA Annual General Meeting in Halifax.

Atop  McKibbon’s priority list: Enhancing the public image of trucking as an essential service provider and a significant employer. “We want trucking to be seen in a more positive light by the general public,” she told www.todaystrucking.com.

She also hopes to work with the association to attract skilled labor to the industry as well as improve government relations in the hopes of harmonizing more regulations.

The APTA is the one trucking association in Canada that has the distinction of dealing with four provincial governments instead of just one.*
