Armour Presented with “Innovator of the Year” Award

Armour was proud to receive the “Innovator of the Year” Award from PeopleNet and TMW Systems at their joint user conference in Nashville this summer. We were recognized in the LTL/intermodal/specialty category for being instrumental in the development of TMW’s ConnectedDock application, our cross-dock technology that is key in the movement of freight across our dock. The scanning technology within the ConnectedDock system not only reduces misdirected freight, but provides our operations and customer service teams with full visibility of the LTL freight moving through our system. As well, the system helps to reduce manual paperwork and system processes such as freight cubing and manifesting, leading to a more automated process, improvingfreight flow and reducing errors across the network.

In addition to ConnectedDock, Armour was also recognized for using TruckMate to automate our billing process to reduce overhead and provide accurate, timely billing. Similar to the cross dock process, automation in billing also reduces manual processes that can be both time consuming and lead to errors. To allow our people to work on more productive tasks, billing automation leaves the more mundane tasks to the system to execute.
